Have you ever watched Super Size Me?

Filed Under (Family) by cdr on 29-04-2008

LMAO, well this guy is up to it again, Morgan Spurlock has come up with another great movie documentary. You might know him as the poor guy who just about died eating MC Donald’s everyday for one month in the hit movie Super Size Me and with his new movie called “Where In The World Is Osama Bin Laden” he is guaranteed to have you laughing your head off.

witwio_new_resized_w156_h230_1.jpgMorgan decides that it is time for him to head to the east in search of Osama Bin Laden and he is interviewing everyone trying to find him. To be honest I would not surprised if at the end of the movie he gets himself shot! I was once again looking through some trailers over at Alliance Films and I came across this one and I could not stop laughing, I think it is just nuts to go around doing this and asking for this particular guy.

Now you have to give Morgan credit for not being boring in any way shape or form for his creative idea’s in film making. I will sy this though, if it was not for me searching regularly at movie trailers over at Alliance Films I never would of knew this was coming out at all.

Looks like it is going to be another great summer for movies coming out and this is one I look forward seeing. Another great one for my son and I is going to be the new Batman movie.  We are both super hero fanatics and love watching these types of movies together. I don’t think “Where in the World is Osama Bin Laden” is going to fit into that category of a great family night together watching movies but I know it is going to be great for us adults.

The Stone Angel

Filed Under (Family) by cdr on 25-04-2008

Man it has been a long winter, and just when I thought it was all over we got a storm here the other day that dumped over 4 inch’s of that white icing stuff on our laps, or yards I mean.

One thing I am looking forward to doing this spring is heading on over to our local movie theater and watching a new movie called “The Stone Angel” My girlfriend and I were snooping threw our favorite movie directory the other day and came across a trailer for it and it looks great!

logo_aaf.gifI am not sure how many of you use online services like Alliance to view things like movie trailers but I tell you with the amount of time I spend online working I never have a chance to sit down and watch TV anymore so I never know whats coming out soon. So when ever my girlfriend gets on my case about going out, we sit down and snoop through what is going to be coming out and make a date to get see what ever it is, and next month it is going to be the Stone Angel!

This has been such a long winter for me simply because of my back injury so getting out now that it is going to be nice out and taking in a flick is something I really need. I have even been putting my art works on hold just because I don’t want to strain myself any further. Well now it is time for me to get back to my exercises and once I see the move in the beginning of may you can look forward to hearing how I liked it.

A new painting started!

Filed Under (art) by cdr on 12-04-2008

Well it has been a few months since I have finished my last painting I have decided it is time for me to complete another one and get my self closer to my goal of having my first showing, which totally scares the heck out of me.

This time I am taking yet another view on this piece to make it different and stand out a bit more. I am going with 12 small frames, and tying them into a row of 4. So you will end up with 3 rows of 4 paintings which will create a very cool looking mosaic style of paintings which I can not wait to complete. The paintings will be tied together using small chains to keep up with the industrial feel and look I have with my work.

I think what I am going to do is post the progress of this painting here on Your World Gallery so everyone can see the stages my work goes through from start to finish which I think would be very neat to see.

Well with that I am off to get started on my new painting.

Graffiti Art

Filed Under (art) by cdr on 05-04-2008

Graffiti artists  do not get the recognition I think they deserve. Most of the art you see that is commonly called “Graffiti” is done with such a unique style of mixing colors, shapes, patterns and  letters. You really end up with a very cool looking image that is bound to add flash and appeal to what ever it is painted on. What is even more funny is that most of the artists in the tattoo world come from the back ground of graffiti art, which to me makes them a better tattooist as their experience doing graffiti art allows them to master the technique of mixed different colors together which gives you a very tasteful piece once completed.

Where I live there is a company that sells and promotes Graffiti Art as a form of advertising. You can hire an artist to paint a mural on your building, or place of business using only this style of art work. All of the completed pieces to me just look amazing and really ad a lot of color to every building they are part of.

To me it is about time that the public starts to appreciate this style of art and welcomes it as an art form to our city. Winnipeg Manitoba (where I live) is really a strong supporter  of all art forms. You should see what is all over our city, from unique sculptures of poplar bear to murals on almost every second building you see downtown. Graffiti art is also taking over a lot of buildings and looks like it is only getting more and more support as the years go by. Myself I look forward to seeing a lot more of this style of art and can’t wait to see what gets done next.

Some artists have scary talent!

Filed Under (art) by cdr on 29-03-2008

 ”sand art”

It is no secret that I have been introduced into the video world the past week or so and while I was making my rounds on You Tube and Revver today I decided to do a search for art and see what came up.

Well I found a video that completely floored me and made me realize I have a long way to go before I can be in her class and the cool thing is, it is sand art!
Watch this video and let me know what you think!
